PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Good things come in threes, but bad things come in twos? After Toledo's Clay Rapada took over the mound, Ortiz led off the bottom of the seventh inning with his second strikeout of the series. The call -- a close one made by third-base umpire Lance Barrett on a 2-2 count -- came during Ortiz's next at-bat after he recorded his first strikeout of the series in the fifth.

Make that 3 for 9 (.333), 3 HRs, 4 RBIs, 2 walks, 4 runs, and two strikeouts for the series.

By the way, the official attendance count for tonight's matchup is 10,675, and Toledo is up 11-5 in the bottom top of the eighth.
