Manny and A-Rod

Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez, the lightning rods on their respective teams, just had a lengthy conversation outside the batting cage while the Red Sox were taking batting practice.
Ramirez was among the Sox who took BP on the field, and seems to be in quite the good mood today. He was smiling as he walked through the clubhouse with his son earlier this afternoon.

manny is a piece of garbage
COME ON MANNY....."WE NEED YOU!"
Hahaha, good for Manny. I suppose everyone will be happy when he is in pinstripes next year. But, Matt Holliday can easily replace Manny Ramirez, didn't you hear? Who knew?
get rid of him
Holliday would look good hitting 4th next season... and he's a consumate professional, unfortunately he'll cost some prospects, then you get to deal with Bora$$... until then Manny's the answer for this season, for better or worse...
Call his bluff...I think he needs to go...
He just doesn't get it!!!! The Red Sox never would have won in 2004 & 2007, but he isn't a team player and it's time for the Red Sox to get rid of him. His best years are behind him. He's a cancer to the rest of the team.
love you fair weather fans....hate manny until the team lose 1-0...now its his fault....i thought big popi was what everyone needed....he is nothing with out manny......they won with manny and no popi......now he let down popi by resting his sore knee...ha ha . what about a catcher who cant hit his weight, yet is allowed to hit ( not bunt )...game over.......the manager is killing ellsbury by not letting him steal....( he gets better pitches whe teams are afraid that he will steal) manny is the key to the line up...so pay him...and get another championship.....the rest of you compainers should open your eyes, there are more players on this team who should get more heat than manny.
The Front Office will do everything possible to make Manny look bad so they can justify letting another fan favorite walk during the offseason. Expect more rifts between the FO and Manny until the season's end. The average fan will side with the FO, of course.
Lightening rods only because hacks the CHB are continued to allowed to participate in baseball media activities.
I don't know about you guys, but I like to call in sick to work when I'm not sick. Oh wait, I don't make $20 million a year and have millions of fans.
and .......?
Man, you media people must really dislike Manny.
Way to go booing Manny. He can't do anything without getting jumped. You would all be crying if he was traded. Let Francona handle the situation and stop speculating. Manny will come through. Doesn't he always?
Maybe I'm old fashioned - but the team is bigger than any one player. He is a disgrace. I'm willing to bet that everyone's performance would improve if management only had the balls to dump this dope. They have kissed his ass for several years now due to his contract and not wanting him to quit on them. The time is NOW! He is a cancer. Trade him to a NL contender seeking a bat for the stretch run. Pay the remainder of his salary if you must - I think we're still paying for Edgar Wrent-a-Wreck aren't we? - and get a couple of prospects. Geez, if you compare the numbers Dave Murphy would look pretty good in LF right now wouldn't he??
Theo said he would be willing to move Manny if he waives his no trade clause...probable destination New York Mets. His attitude sucks and you cannot have one player destroying the chemistry of the team.
Panic time in Beantown. Lovin' it!
Manny is doing all of his detractors a favor by acting this way. He is making it an easy decision for the Front Office. Assuming he mails in another second half, where does he think he's going to get a better offer than the Sox option for '09? Forget baseball for a moment (Manny certainly has), this is a boneheaded business move as well!! Holliday in left? That is something I can fathom now....
manny has been an idiot for years. something is not connected right in the dudes head and we should all know that by now. is he a great team player? no...but who cares. the sox won two world series with him on the roster (MVP in 2004, how soon we forget). so I'm thinking it is worth the insanity.
support manny during the season. cheer FOR him not against him. and let management decide if he is worth the $$$ for the future as a separate matter entirely.
Everyone that is hating on Manny needs to remember this, for sports in these days, he has been worth EVERY penny. If you refuse to accept that in todays sports market, get out of your cave and get educated. He has been the most consistant offensive force during his tenure with the Sox, and while you may get the hustling, normal player for 2-3 million, why not SHUTUP, pay 20, get 2 world titles, shut the yanks up and make the sox an annual bet to make the series.
first of all gerry sr, its big papi, not big popi. second of all, manny is one of the best players of all time. without manny we would not have won in 04 or 07. Its not like he hasnt been doing this before. You cant say hes throwing off the chemistry of the team because he is one of the most friendly and likeable guys in the league. However, after his performance against the yankees last time we were in new york (watching 3 strikes in the top of the ninth), i say we should get rid of him. At this point in the season, if we keep manny i find it hard to believe we repeat. If we trade him and hansen for a teixera or holliday i think thats the spark that this team and city needs to win the division and repeat as champs.
Nothing like a media driven controversy. In the absence of fact, fiction becomes truth and idiots like CHB, Edes, Benjamin et al are allowed to write specious, speculative pablum. The soothsaying baseball writers are as accurate as psychic weather predictors.
Manny to Atlanta along with Youkalis and prospect for Mark Teixera.
Boston SUCKS and Manny agrees!!!!!
Oh my god, this affects my life so much.....
What manager out there is going to say "oh I need some of that trouble" ? Francona has put up with Manny and probably defended him numerous times because he has brought him two world series. We loved Manny when he was really producing and put up with a little crap. It's different now because his numbers are down and Manny being Manny is not so cute anymore.
don't let the club house door hit him in a** Manny has seen his best days fly by and for sure is not a team player. Thanks for the memories, now beat it you trader.
