Posted by Baxter Holmes, Globe Correspondent July 9, 2008 02:17 PM

The Red Sox have scored four runs in the third to take a 4-3 lead against the Twins.

Manny Ramirez doubled to center field to score Jacoby Ellsbury from third, giving the Red Sox their first run of the game in the third inning.

With Ramirez and Dustin Pedroia on second and third (Pedroia reached on a single), Mike Lowell singled to score both players and tie the game, 3-3.

Sean Casey then singled to score Lowell, who advanced to second on the throw home and then to third on an error by the center fielder.
