Why does any one care about this. Why does it create a news story when Manny steps into the wall?

gotta love a guy who has fun playing a game and acting like a kid doing it. sometimes i think we all take things too seriously. good for manny to brighten our day when the times are tough.

I hope Manny continues to entertain us! I think he's the guy who is allowed to do such a thing and laise a laugh from everyone.

I was at the game today and saw this. Manny loves the crowd and the crowd loves him back. It's nice to see someone who manages to have fun playing baseball and still be one of the greatest the game has ever seen. Manny haters need to lighten up!

bob diaz takes himself seriously. his comment is great...beware the darkening storm. what storm? the guy plays baseball. i know in NE people like to think that because they watch 150 game a year that they have some deep connection to the team and they get to make these ominous statements but really, the darkening storm? is he some sort of world leader? the only darkening storm is the witches brew he blasts into his toilet after hitting a homer and having a hotdog...on your, the fans, dime. yup.

That's an Orange Gatorade. I hope he's getting compensated for that. I actually think it could be a great advertisement. He doesn't have to do it every game, but just catch everyone off guard every once in a while, with a "Manny Monster Minute." I'd be happier though, if he was hitting balls over the monster.

If the weather at Fenway is about the same as it is 10 miles to the west where I live, it's been pretty hot in the last week. I would imagine that any normal person would try to limit standing in the hot July sun longer than necessary. A trip into the wall during a time out is weird?? Explain how? If he played first base, I would think that he would head for the dugout during a pitching change.

Gosh, but Ramirez is adorable, a dangerous living doll, half little boy, half very bad man, a sweet child with a very real edge. I can't think of a pro athlete more endearing, or hotter for that matter. Cannot get enough of his antics, and he should have more endorsements to trade on his appeal.

Manny makes me laugh. To all the Manny haters, you are either Yankee fans or know nothing about baseball. Not that the two are mutually exclusive. Theo, pick up Manny's options!

I think that Manny's next move should be to post the scores in between innings, that should get all the up tight fans and sportswriters something else to hammer Manny on. He is just enjoying his time playing and interacting with the growd.

Manny in the wall is a great touch. He knows how to have fun, and myself, a long time Sox fan like it. I know nothing about Manny that suggests he's anything other than a hard working, fun loving, sensitive guy. To the naysayers, I say, go follow your own team, or if you're a real Sox fan, I say lighten up.

You know it is a little funny how attention this gets, but they are just playing with the fans. I think it is funy what Manny does, but if anyone watched This week in Red sox last night they saw someone else on the team doing something funny in the middle of the game. Mike Lowell after trying to chase down a foul ball took a guys cell phone that was sitting on the wall and put it in his pocket until the inning was over. He did it has a joke, and it seems that they are just having fun.

I say let them have their fun they play 162 games a year. Let them do what they want as long as they keep winning.

to many of the manny moments were negative...my manny moments include walk off homeruns, assists from left field, world series mvp and being the best and hardest working hitter in the game. no ballplayer last for ever. can we enjoy this while it lasts. do you think the sox would have those two rings without manny.

Let Manny do what comes natural, Sox fans. If you are a genuine, supporting member of the Nation, then you realize every magic moment he has just adds to the aura of his presence. He's a winner, a leader, so what the hell, let him have some fun. It keep the boys loose and is why we expect to win another series.

Their grandparents booed Ted Williams so much he refused to tip his cap, then deified him after he retired. Their parents ranted on talk radio about Yaz failing to run out ground balls to first base, then spent thousands on autographed baseballs, Impossible Dream DVDs and other knicknacks. I love Manny. I love his antics. He is having fun playing a game, he is funny, and he is great at playing the game. What exactly is there not to like?

I think its time to start talk for a trade. These antics are not the attention the Sox need when they are playing professional ball.

Manny's batting average is 30 points higher at Fenway than it is on the road. Maybe the Sox should be trying to get a set of keys for Manny to semi-secret rooms located at other stadiums around the league.

I agree with RSB. I was at the game and it was HOT in the sun! I would've ducked into the wall for a little hydration if I had been standing out there, too. As I said to the guys sitting near me, "Hey, it's been a long inning!"
