No BP for Big Papi

PORTLAND, Maine -- No BP for BP (Big Papi).

Rain took care of that.

Hadlock Field is being pelted by rain at present, which has waylaid any plans by the Portland Sea Dogs, and rehabbing Bosox slugger David Ortiz from taking any outdoor batting practice swings.

This is scheduled to be Ortiz final day of a six-game rehab stint, including the final three in Portland. But tonight’s game with against the Connecticut Defenders is in jeopardy, so we’ll sit tight.

Ortiz did take batting practice in the indoor cage.

More to come.
