Notes for tonight's game against the Orioles
The Red Sox and the Orioles play game two of their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. The O's took last night's game 7-3, snapping the Sox three-game winning streak and also snapping the O's five-game losing streak.
Baltimore's Radhames Liz (3-1, 5.94 ERA) and Boston's Tim Wakefield (5-6, 3.75 ERA) will take the mound.
Here are some key notes:
- The Red Sox will try to avoid their second consecutive home loss tonight. They have only lost consecutive games at Fenway Park twice this season -- April 23-24 against the LA Angels and June 20-21 against St. Louis.
- Wakefield has pitched eight consecutive quality starts, the second-longest streak in the majors behind Oakland's Justin Duchscherer (9).
- J.D. Drew is expected back after missing the last two games with a back injury. The All-Star rightfielder is batting .317 with 12 home runs and 31 RBIs in 34 games since June 1.
- Sox shortstop Julio Lugo will miss tonight's game with an injury to his left quadriceps. He was scheduled to be evaluated today.
