Off the mark

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff July 1, 2008 08:12 PM

Tim Wakefield just threw a second wild pitch, and it again figured in the scoring.

After Evan Longoria hit an infield single past Wakefield, on which Dustin Pedroia fell down, Wakefield sent him to second base on the wild pitch. Then, when Dioner Navarro singled to right field, Longoria came home to give the Rays the lead.

It's 2-1, as we head to the top of the fifth.
