PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- David Ortiz just had his first live at-bat since injuring his left wrist May 31.

Here's the breakdown of the at-bat against Toledo's righthander Virgil Vasquez in the first inning:

1st pitch: Ortiz took a mighty swing and whiffed.

2nd pitch: A check swing for strike two

3rd pitch: High for ball one

4th pitch: High and inside for ball two

5th pitch: Popout to shortstop

The sellout crowd gave him an ovation with the popout, as it did when he was announced as the next batter.
