Pedroia breaks up no-hitter

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff July 29, 2008 09:25 PM

Dustin Pedroia, who had been the Red Sox' only base runner against John Lackey with a sixth-inning walk, stroked a single between short and third to break up the no-hit bid with one out in the ninth.

Kevin Youkilis followed with a home run to left on an 0-1 pitch. It's 6-2 Angels in the ninth.

  1. Only baserunner? Wrong. JD Drew was hit by a pitch earlier in the game.

  1. Hey Nick,

Good thing you go to the game! Why don't you pay attention. If only the sox coils trade you instead of Manny. Thanks for mailing in another game.
