Posted by Baxter Holmes, Globe Correspondent July 11, 2008 08:37 PM

Brian Roberts led off the game with a double in the first inning, then singled in the second inning, and now in the bottom of the fifth, he tripled to score Brandon Fahey, meaning Roberts is a home run away from the cycle.

Roberts has had hits in 22 of his last 25 games, going 34-for-110 (.309) with 13 doubles, two triples and three home runs. Coming into the game, he led the majors with 7 triples and 32 doubles.
