Sox storm back in 8th, lead 6-5
The crowd stood on its feet with two outs in the eighth inning, sensing a rally, and chants of "Manny, Manny, Manny" rang out. Manny Ramirez had won the game the night before. THe fans wanted him to come through with some late-game heroics again.
He didn't win it, but he made it a ballgame.
Ramirez hit the first pitch he saw off Matt Guerrier -- a 95-mile-per-hour fastball -- into the seats on the Green Monster for a two-run home run that tied the game, 5-5.
Jacoby Ellsbury had scored during the previous at-bat thanks to a sacrifice grounder from J.D. Drew. Ellsbury had doubled to left.
The Sox took their first lead on Brandon Moss's single to score Kevin Youkilis, who also doubled.
