Tied at zero through four innings

Posted by Baxter Holmes, Globe Correspondent July 7, 2008 08:17 PM

The Sox and Twins are tied, 0-0, through four innings at Fenway. The Sox had the bases loaded in the fourth but failed to convert as Coco Crisp popped to third and Jason Varitek flied to center to strand J.D. Drew, Manny Ramirez, and Kevin Youkilis.

Drew and Ramirez hit to consecutive singles -- with Ramirez's single moving Drew to third -- to start the fourth inning before Mike Lowell struck out.

Youkilis walked to load the bases but Scott Baker wriggled out of trouble getting Crisp and Varitek, who began the night with just 15 hits in his last 114 at-bats.
