The Red Sox just sent out a Fenway weather alert. It certainly looks like rain here, a bit overcast with that heavy feeling in the air. Plus, our own Gordon Edes is reporting that it's raining on his drive in from the central portion of the Commonwealth. That might not bode well for this evening...

Here's the release from the Sox:

FENWAY AREA WEATHER UPDATE (As of 4:00 p.m.)

The current weather forecast (provided by the Red Sox private weather service, Meteorlogix) in the vicinity of Fenway Park calls for a possibility of scattered thunderstorms for the late afternoon and early evening hours.

The Fenway Park gates will open at the regularly scheduled time of 6:05 p.m., and the Red Sox expect tonight’s game with the New York Yankees to begin at the scheduled time at 8:05 p.m. However, the Red Sox want to alert our fans to the current forecast and the possibility of delay.

This forecast is of course subject to change as the day progresses. Additional updates will be provided as necessary.

  1. "If the Red Sox are a better team without Manny Ramirez, they should trade me; I will not object," said Ramirez in a telephone interview with ESPNdeportes.com on Sunday.

  1. If Matsui doesn't bounce back from his injury well, Manny will be playing LF and/or DH in the Boogie Down next year. Believe it.

  1. Jamey....you are nuts...you think they are going to put up with his antics...he will fit best out West either with the Dodgers or the Angels...maybe even the Dbacks...but if he can't stand Boston media what do you think he will get in NY?

  1. How will they fill a void like that? I mean JD Drew is hitting great, but they will not have the most feared 3/4 hitters in the game anymore! Unless they can find another big bat to bring in they need to work things out with Manny
