Youk's career night gets even better

Posted by Baxter Holmes, Globe Correspondent July 12, 2008 09:27 PM

It was a good game for Kevin Youkilis already. He hit his first career grand slam in the third, the fourth grand slam by a Red Sox player this season. He also tallied a his career-high fifth RBI in the fourth when he hit a sacrifice grounder to score Manny Ramirez from third.

In the eighth inning, Youkilis singled to score Brandon Moss (reached on a double) from third. It was his Youk's sixth RBI for the game, a new career-high and also the most for a Red Sox player since since J.D Drew drove in 7 runs June 8, 2007 at Arizona.
