Awaiting word on Youk

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff August 6, 2008 08:35 PM

KANSAS CITY - We're still awaiting word on the severity of Kevin Youkilis's hand/wrist injury suffered in the first inning when he was hit with a Luke Hochevar fastball. Youkilis was in pain, but shook it off and took the base, but didn't come out to the field in the bottom of the first. He was replaced by Sean Casey.

The ball seemed to hit him on the inside part of the wrist on his right hand.

  1. When are announcers going to get away from how David Ortiz is 0-9, at this point, and 1- for whatever at that point, and start telling the revealing statistic that he is, after flying out in the third inning tonight, 2-20 since Manny left?

And just for the record, did anyone notice in game one against KC, Tito loaded the lineup with lefties afer Bay right through the top of the order (Drew) against the right hander Gil Meche? For the record, again, The Sox struck out l2 times that night and would you believe 10 of them came from those lefties?

That's why we are Sox fans--only two kinds of fans in the world: Sox fans and those that wish they could be! See you in October--will Bay be driving the Duck Boats this year?
