Beckett on target

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff August 5, 2008 10:08 PM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Josh Beckett is pitching quite well here. Over six innings he's allowed three hits and a run and leads, 5-1.

It's been fun watching Jacoby Ellsbury get on base and stealing bases again. He's had two swipes tonight, his first since July 1.Dustin Pedroia and Ellsbury both have knocked in runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Ortiz's wrist is holding up fine, so hold the Barry Bonds stories.
