Guillen-isms

Posted by Julian Benbow, Globe Staff August 29, 2008 09:30 PM

Figured now was as good a time as any to drop these quotables on you care of White Sox Ozzie Guillen (You think it's cheating if someone uses a Guillen quote for the "They Said It" section in Sports Illustrated. He says something at least once a week.)

On a possibly Cubs-White Sox World Series.

If that happens I think the Chicago mayor will have a real good chance at the Summer Olympics. I guarantee you. That city’s going to go crazy.

On the Josh Beckett situation.

“I don’t like to see anybody get hurt, but thank you Josh.

(He also said, “This guy, to me, is one of the best pitchers if not the best pitcher in the game. That guys a big time pitcher, they’re going to miss him. He’s one of the best.” So cut him some slack.)

On Barack Obama saying he’s a Sox fan:

“That’s a true Sox fan. He’s from Chicago. If you’re a guy from Chicago, we’ll root for you … but we have spring training in Phoenix. We have to be nice, too.

Red 7, White 0, Dice-K still dealing in the eighth.
