Here they go again

The Red Sox' inexorable scoring spree against the pitch-poor Rangers is under way. With two outs, David Ortiz punctuates a 9-0 second inning (so far), punching out a three-run homer, his 17th HR of the season. Kevin Youkilis follows with a double to center field, and comes home on Jason Bay's single to left. That's all for Hunter as the Rangers send in Warner Madrigal.

After giving up an RBI-double to Jed Lowrie, Madrigal strikes out Jason Varitek to end the inning, 9-0. Hunter and Madrigal threw 51 pitches in the inning.

The eight hits were a season high for an inning for the Sox, and the nine runs scored the second highest total after the 10 scored in the first inning against Texas on Tuesday.

David Ortiz has 20 RBIs (of 62 total) in seven games against Texas this season.

And Kevin Youkilis, who continues to get better game by game, has five hits in his last 6 at-bats. He is 7 for 11 with 7 RBIs in this series against Texas -- so far.
