  1. In my own opinion, I liked the Sox lineup when Ellsbury was leadoff because I feel that a team needs speed to lead off the lineup. He is a decent hitter and when he gets on base he is dangerous. I do agree that Pedroia hits in the 2nd spot. Now, Ortiz, since he hasn't hit since Manny left I think he should hit 5th or 6th. And move Bay to the 3rd or cleanup spot. And Youklis should hit 3rd or 4th because he has an incredible bat. Lowell is fine at the five hole. And Drew could hit seventh, you need a good bat deep in the lineup. Lowrie is doing fine batting eigth and Varitek is fine hitting last.

  1. You are not the brightest Tamborine Man, Dylan. You want Ortiz hitting sixth? So he only impacts a game, on average, 3.5 at bats? He should be cleanup, like every other big bat on every other team in the world. In fact, he should have been clean up when Manny was here, but Manny was so skilled he was able to adapt to the flip. And thanks for the info that Tek is "fine" hitting last. No one is fine if they hit last.

  1. Red Sox should sue the bastard for breach of contract. He obviously was playing dead until he got what he wanted.
    Frank....... Brookline

  1. Three things:
1)The sources are the NY Post, and People that would be Manny's friends, neither one could be considered highly reliable.
2)Brian Cashman isn't an idiot, he isn't going to pay Manny even $80mil for 4 years, remember, they had an opportunity to claim him off waivers 3 years ago and they didn't. He is more likely to go after Mark Texiera, since gold thong stache guy is just about useless at the money he is being paid.
3)If Hank talks Cashman into it, great, then it is one more aging veteran who won't be able to get them to a World Series.

  1. I see youk took himself out of the lineup 20 minutes before the game. We should trade him for quitting on the team. Oh, I forgot, he is white.
