Lowrie out today

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff August 10, 2008 02:10 PM

Just an explanation of why Jed Lowrie has been replaced in the lineup by Alex Cora. Lowrie was hit on the left foot in the first game of the series, then fouled a ball off the same foot yesterday, and was a bit hobbled.

So Alex Cora gets in the lineup today. It doesn't seem as if this will be a long-term problem. It's likely Lowrie will be back in the lineup tomorrow.

  1. How about Masterson? Whatever the case, enough is enough with Bucholtz, for this year at least. We're in a pennant race and he hasn't delivered all year. Let him work out his issues in the off-season, we can't afford to have a sure loss every 5th day. I don't get why masterson, who pitched well just about every time out, is now a rarely used middle reliever. Yeah, Colon's an option when he's healthy again, but Bucholtz needs to be removed from the starting ro asap.
