Nail-biting time

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff August 18, 2008 09:41 PM

BALTIMORE - They had a nifty 4-1 lead. Buit now it's 4-3.

Manny Delcarmen walked two batters in the eighth and they both scored when Aubrey Huff stroked a double to left-center off Jonathan Papelbon, who relieved Delcarmen after the walks, to make it a one-run game. It was the first hit Papelbon has allowed in the 8th inning this season. Opponents were 0-for-10 before the hit.

Once again, a very inconsistent outing for Delcarmen.

  1. How about Coco getting a 3 ball walk in the 8th! Check it out.
