No deal expected
Sox general manager Theo Epstein didn't expect a deal to take place today, the (playoff) roster deadline. While there are teams trying to make deals - the Diamondbacks and Angels are reportedly interested in Toronto shortstop David Eckstein or Giants veteran Omar Vizquel - the Sox appear content with their roster even with Sean Casey and J.D. Drew on the DL.
The Sox were trailing the White Sox 3-1 in the seventh. Thought we might have our first instant replay in the fifth when Jim Thome's drive to left field toward the foul pole, fell just under it. Nobody had a beef with the call as Thome settled for a double. He was driven in by Paul Konerko's double to left field.

That was a home run. We had the guy who caught it down to the clubhouse so they could barter for the ball as he passed Mickey Mantle with that shot.
