Oh, but they love him now

NEW YORK --- The most riveting moment of the first inning wasn't the two-run outburst the Red Sox had at the top of the frame on Jason Bay's two-run double off Yankees' starter Sidney Ponson, but the reception Alex Rodriguez got from sellout crowd at Yankees Stadium in his first at-bat.

With two out, and Bobby Abreu (walk) on first base, A-Rod came to the plate and, predictably, was greeted with loud boos. No doubt they were leftovers from Tuesday night's 7-3 loss to the Red Sox.

But A-Rod quickly won them over when he turned the jeers to cheers with an RBI double down the left field line that pulled the Yankees within 2-1.
