Sox chase Pettitte in 5th

Posted by Michael Vega, Globe Staff August 26, 2008 08:18 PM

NEW YORK -- And on his 101st pitch, Andy Pettitte departed the game. The Yankees starter was chased after giving up a two-run single (that caromed off the third base bag) to Sox first baseman Jeff Bailey.

Bailey's shot scored Jed Lowrie (single to right) from third and Coco Crisp (single to right, stolen base) from second.

Righthanded reliever Brian Bruney entered the game and got the Yankees out of the inning by inducing Kevin Cash to ground to third.
