Sox out to a quick lead

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff August 19, 2008 07:21 PM

BALTIMORE - The Red Sox have started fast with two runs in the first off Daniel Cabrera and have given Daisuke Matsuzaka a 2-0 lead.

Jacoby Ellsbury's speed was again a factor. He led off the game with a single, stole second and drew an errant throw from Ramon Hernandez and wound up at third base. After Dustin Pedroia walked, David Ortiz singled to center scoring Ellsbury. A Kevin Youkilis fly to center advanced Pedroia to third and Jason Bay got him in with a sac fly.
