Scenes from a Stadium closing [included] players autographing for other players, and Mussina telling A-Rod to note his "almost 20 wins in 1997,'' his "almost no-hitter in 1999,'' and his "almost world championship in 2001.''
Raise your hand if you knew Mussina has a sense of humor.
Meanwhile, Derek Lowe is quietly contributing almost as much as Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers' postseason push. According to MLB.com, after pitching seven scoreless innings against the Giants Sunday, Lowe is now 6-1 with a 1.33 ERA in his last nine starts, and he has a 0.66 ERA in September. He has been known to have his moments this time of year.
