Dice-K scratched, start delayed

Posted by Adam Kilgore, Globe Staff September 26, 2008 07:41 PM

The game will not start at 8:05, and Daisuke Matsuzaka will not pitch tonight. (For the record, if you couldn't tell, I don't think the game will start, and I don't think anyone will throw a pitch tonight.) If and when the game begins, David Pauley will be pitching for the Red Sox. It's still raining. A lot.

When there is more information, we will pass it along.

  1. Are there other people out there with tickets to tonight's game that are sitting at home hoping they will postpone it until Sunday?

  1. Shocking, isn't it?

Glad I decided to stay dry @ home. I'll watch the game (if it happens), drink a cold beer in my warm, dry house in front of the big screen TV in my recliner.

  1. Even though there might not be a game tonight why was Dice-k scatched?

  1. Hi Bob,

Yup, I bought a Sox Pack in December especially for this Friday night Yankees matchup. How dumb do I feel now? Not only did the game become almost meaningless (although ANY game against the Yanks is never completely meaningless), but it has to be cruddy weather as well.

I still don't think they'll get 5 innings in before the deluge returns.

What truly stinks is that I thought I'd see some history with Pesky's # getting retired.

  1. I'm really, really rooting for the deluge to return. I have tickets to tonight but I'm at home now I'd like to see the game on Sun., but I wouldn't mind my $$ back either.
Looking at the radar I think they'll get the game in tonight.
