Lackey awful

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff September 26, 2008 11:03 PM

ANAHEIM - Wow.

John Lackey, the ace of the Angels staff, just threw 73 of the worst pitches of his career. The "ace" of the Angels' staff was pummeled by the Rangers' offense for 12 hits, 10 earned runs, two homers, two walks over 2-2/3 innings before Mike Scioscia mercifully lifted him.

Lackey is expected to be the Angels' No. 1 starter in a potential series with the Red Sox. But was tonight a sign of things to come or simply a bad outing?

  1. I think the Red Sox should worry about their own pitching...after all, they have only won one game against the Angels this year...I say the Angels beat the Red Sox and the Rays beat the Angels....
