Start projected for 8:05 p.m.

The Red Sox say there will be "an abatement" of the rain within 15 minutes, and team and MLB officials are hoping they can start the game at 8:05 p.m. (This despite a forecast calling for a 100 percent chance of rain. If they get in five innings tonight, I will eat my media guide.) The tarp is being taken off the field, but it is a truly miserable night for baseball.

  1. I'd rather they not play. Someone is going to get hurt playing in this crap tonight and we all know it won't be a Yankee.

  1. The national weather map shows relatively clear skies from Boston on south with the bad weather heading directly north and over Southern New Hampshire right now (7:20 pm EST).

Unless this game becomes another Red Sox- Yankee's marathon, they should be able to get the game in without issue. I wouldn't wait until 8:05 pm, though.

  1. Make sure you put some hot sauce on it. Kills the taste of the paper. I'm with Glenn on this one. I'd rather see them cancel it. We already have enough nagging injuries. We don't need anymore.

  1. Get your napkin ready. Once they start they'll make sure to get the 5 innings in to secure the gate receipts.
