Video: Ryan previews ALDS
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Globe's Bob Ryan previews the Sox-Angels series and says Boston fans can sit back and relax as the Red Sox are playing with house money in the ALDS.

Two questions: Is this guy on coke ? And am I the only Sox fan who thinks Bob is an idiot ?
Too funny M Nolan. I don't think that Bob is dancing with the 'white lady' though his high-strung mush mouth delivery drives me nuts. Personally I think he comes across as a bit of a boob but not an idiot. Y'know what though? Once in a while (and I do mean ONCE IN A WHILE) its nice to have his perspective thrown into the mix. Speaking of nice, doesn't Amelie Benjamin look like a vision of beauty in that blog pic up top? Seriously stunning.
He is an idiot.
You guys are nuts. Bob Ryan is an incredibly astute journalist with a long-term perspective on Boston sports that few can match. I always appreciate his insights. What about him bothers you - his delivery or (are you actually listening?) to what he says?
I am living in London hoping I can find a way to watch the Sox on Friday at 0300 hrs. Bob Ryan is right at lot more than he is wrong. He tends to be a little long and if you look closley you can see where it was edited.
It's a generation thing. They don't perceive him to be 'one of theirs' so they don't like the guy. I like Ryan a great deal..the guy's been covering Boston teams since the early 70s. Oops, there I go making a generational point. ("his hair's too gray .. he don't look like one of us.. we don't like him WHAAAAAA..)
Only an idiot would say Bob Ryan is an idiot!
I have been reading Ryan since sept '75 as a freshman in college.....sorry guys, but along with Montville, Fitzgerald, McDonough, Roberts, Gammons et al, they were the best read period. If you don't like his style, sorry, don't read or listen. Ryan's still a must read.
I love the graphics the Globe/Boston.com puts up - but it would be nice to see WHIP listed, both on its own merits (stats wise, correlates better than ERa with lots of things) and for fantasy purposes!
