Weather update

Posted by Chad Finn, Globe Staff September 12, 2008 03:32 PM

With scattered showers in the forecast for the early evening, you might want to bring your umbrella if you're headed to the Sox-Jays series opener tonight at Fenway.

According to a release sent out at 3:15 p.m. by the Sox, gates will open at the usual time (5:05 p.m.) and the first pitch is still scheduled for 7:05 p.m., but delays during the game are a possibility.

  1. Don't urge fans to bring umbrellas! Its hard enough to watch a game with a huge golf umbrella in front of you. Tell people to bring ponchos so everyone can enjoy the game. Or stay home if you don't like the rain.

  1. I agree! Umbrella's are allowed in but you have to have your backpack checked by security for your sweatshirts, programs and ball gloves. The players don't use 'em niether should the fans...in any park.

  1. The game will be cancelled. this evening. There is a long trough headed towards us, bringing steady rain at times. The Sox will make every attempt to get it in, but it will be way too late to start the game once the rain stops.

Look for another double header on Sunday.
