We can understand Sarah Palin playing both sides of the fence, but three-time WWE champion John Cena has some explaining to do.

Cena, a West Newbury native, appeared on a between-inning JumboTron promo that featured him decked out in Rays gear and screaming, "Go Rays!" as part of a compilation that also included some ESPN personalities and Hammer (wait, wasn't he an Oakland A's bat boy?)

Cena currently resides in Tampa, where fans seemingly have no problem switching their baseball allegiance. His Wikipedia entry cites him as a Red Sox fan, but has reportedly been spotted at Rays Rallies with superfan (and former pro wrestler) Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys.

  1. What a sellout. I knew Cena years ago when he was a high school football player. Now he is a wannabee, bandwagon-jumping Rays fan. Hey John, do me a favor and stay in Tampa.

  1. This guy is a two-faced piece of garbage. After Chris Benoit died he went on Larry King Live and stated that he had never used steroids or had ever seen them in a WWE locker room. WHAT A JOKE!

  1. They had a repeat National Anthem performer? There was no one else of note from Tampa area?

  1. He's a joke.

Fact is, he's a good guy in the wrestling world and he gets booed hard by every single crowd he goes to. What does that tell you? A wannabe Stone Cold or Rock who will never match up to their excellence.

    Red Sox for Life.
