Check out the video below as Francona talks about how the team plans to add relief pitcher Mike Timlin to its roster.

Check out the video below as Maddon talks about adding an 11th pitcher, possibly Troy Percival.

  1. Now let's hope that the Red Sox only use Timlin when they're up by 7 or more runs. Yikes.

  1. I know this has gotta have something to do sentiment - and I'm not necessarily against that - but please don't kid yourself Tito and pitch him if the game is on the line.

  1. I'm trying to find the situation where Mike Timlin comes into a game to pitch...... and there's a "level of comfort". Maybe Tito can find him some action in a non-vital situation? Other than that, I guess I'll just have to pray I don't see him trotting in from the pen in any inning that matters. .... Comfort? No..... Discomfort ? Yes.
Is it possible that Tito knows something I don't? Highly likely. But I just don't get the warm and fuzzys over this addition to the ALCS battery.

  1. Timlin is way out the door, should have been the whole season, ever since he got back from an injury, just not the same. Should hang it up after this year, better hang it up I do hope so. Alas... time has come. How many rings does he have, like 7?

  1. Would you guys just report the news and cut out the video garbage? I mean, it's nice - if one is at home but these videos in the workplace don't work so well. Seems you reporter types are getting even lazier than usual.

  1. Comfort level? What games is he watching? I feel sick to my stomach when I see Timlin in the bullpen just throwing.

If he comes in and blows one game I'm moving to MannyWood!

  1. It is clear that this is all about loyalty - pure and simple. As the series goes on we will see if loyalty leads to stupidity as everyone from Tito on down knows that Timlin should not be used in any game that has less than a 5 run lead.

  1. Why can't we at least ask Francona his thoughts on replacing Lowell's needed RH bat against left-handed pitching? It's an obvious question when you just lost a guy of Lowell's offensive caliber (see, World Series 2007) and when your law-firm sounding bench (Casey, Cora, Crisp & Cash) has no RH bat on it, but your inactive guys in the roster has one that won all kids of awards for his bat in AAA and has been up playing for a month or more (see, Bailey, Jeff). It's a reasonable question, and I think pretty obvious!

  1. I guess we can all hope they use Byrd before they use Timlin, but I guess, this is the Yankees where Jason Giambi knows he will be hitting a homerun as soon as Timlin is up.

  1. This club knows chemistry, and a familiar act of functionality may only put this guy in a plus-plus situation.

  1. Oy - if Timlin comes in - hold onto yer caps... I don't care if we're up 10 runs, the stomach starts to churn. Then again - he's pitched a few 1-2-3 innings this year, so, maybe if by chance we ARE up significantly, he can save someone else's arm for the next day. But still, yikes!
