Guillen names rotation
ST. PETERSBURG - White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen announced he will go with Javier Vazquez, Mark Buehrle and John Danks in the first three games of the ALDS series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Guillen also said that if there's a Game 4 he will start right-hander Gavin Floyd.
Guillen said it was a "tough decision" leaving Floyd out of the mix for the first three, but he felt he wanted the lefties in the rotation to offset Tampa Bay's tough left-handed hitters (Carlos Pena, Cliff Floyd, Akinori Iwamura, Carl Crawford and Gabe Gross).
Guillen would not reveal his playoff roster, but said he had to make tough decisions but that "it's about winning not about feelings."
Guillen posted a lineup in his clubhouse that did not include Carlos Quentin listed in the lineup or as a reserve and therefore the assumption is Quentin isn't quite ready to play.
Here's what Guillen's lineup looked like:
1. Orlando Cabrera-SS
2. Dewayne Wise-LF
3. Jermaine Dye-RF
4. Jim Thome-DH
5. Paul Konerko-1B
6. Ken Griffey-CF
7. Alexei Ramirez-2B
8. A.J.Pierzynski-C
9. Juan Uribe-3B
SP- Javier Vazquez
Listed as reserves were: OF Jerry Owens, OF Nick Swisher, OF Brian Anderson, C Toby Hall, INF Josh Fields. Listed in the bullpen were: LHP Clayton Richard, LHP Matt Thornton, RHP Adam Russell, RHP D.J. Carrasco, RHP Octavio Dotel, RHP Scott Linebrink, RHP Bobby Jenks.
