Lester trots out for seventh

Posted by Tony Massarotti, Globe Staff October 2, 2008 12:12 AM

Jon Lester has indeed taken the mound for the seventh. The Red Sox left two more runners in the top of the inning, David Ortiz striking out against Darren Oliver with men on first and third. The Sox had rallied with two outs thankls to a brutal misplay in right field by Gary Matthews, who turned a Jacoby Ellsbury liner into a three-error.

The game is in the Sox' hands now.

  1. Ozzie Guillen was right. Ortiz striking out was unfortunately not surprising after Pedroia was walked. I'd rather Youkilis hit third but that'll never happen.
