Schilling in the house

Posted by Adam Kilgore, Globe Staff October 16, 2008 08:05 PM

The Red Sox unveiled a surprise tonight shortly before the start of Game 5: Curt Schilling threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Schilling hopped over the first base line, wearing jeans and a No. 38 Red Sox jersey, and walked to the mound welcomed by flashbulbs and cheers. He bounced his pitch about 55 feet to Kevin Cash, then walked off and gave his jersey to a kid.

Daisuke Matsuzaka will throw the first pitch to Akinori Iwamura in moments.
