    1. Sign Tek...one year with club options for 2 years (could be acceptable and put Boras to the side). Get/sign Texeria, move Youk to second, and Dustin to short. Keep Lowell. Trade Lowrie for a catcher, etc.(Salty). Get Lowe for three years with club options for two years (again put Boras to the side). If not, stay the course with our youngsters.......bring them up..... Hopefully Theo will do what's right and what's best for us fans and the team.

    1. Hey, I have a better idea! Why not let Youk be the next catcher? After all, if he can play 1B/3B so well, he MUST be able to play any other position, right?

Posted by Michael December 11, 08 07:28 AM
    1. I agree with keeping Wake in the pen, he is valuable arm as a spot starter as well. Go after Lowe for no other reason so the Yanks don't get him. If the Sox do get Texeira, Lowell will not be here. Trade Lugo, keep Lowrie, but one of the top things the sox need to do is resign Cora!! Gives them a dependable back up or gives them time to replace if someon goes down.

What about Lowrie to third and bringing back Nomar?! haha

    1. everyone on this thing does not know what they are talking about, youk at short, pedroia at short????? this is retarded, i think if they get teixeira and lowe they will be fine for the offseason other than finding a legit catcher, even if they do get him for two years they need to sign somebody long term so this doesnt happen two years down the road

Posted by christian December 12, 08 01:45 PM
    1. Sign Teixeira, resign Tek and trade Lowell to the Rangers for Salty (heard the Rangers want Blalock to be DH) and sign Lowe if he takes a discount

      Posted by Joshua E December 14, 08 11:26 AM
    1. There is no way Youk and/or Pedroia are going to play SS. The Sox will leave Lowrie there. He has too much talent for a young player. Sure he numbers went down toward the end of the season, but like I said, he's young. He will only get better. Because of Lowrie, the Sox will probably look to trade Lugo. I also think that the Sox may deal Coco or Buchholz. Most likely for a catcher. If the Sox do sign Tex, Youk will move to 3rd, and then look to deal Lowell (as much I hate to admit it). Also, if the Sox sign Tek, it will only be for 1 year, probably for an option for another 1 or 2. Just enough time for him to teach any young catcher the game (Salty or Teagarden). As far as any pitchers, Derek Lowe has expressed interest in coming back, and I think the Sox will sign him. Keep Wake in the bull pen, and make Masterson a starter.

    1. rob, u think they should trade coco. Ah I think they did , have u been sleepng the last few weeks?

Posted by cja December 18, 08 09:41 PM
    1. Yanks strike again....with Boras quietly dealing behind the scene.

Sox should stop negotiating players with Boras as their agent. Period.

Let's take the money & give Yukilus the same deal buddy (and MVP) Dustin just got. Look him up now!

    1. economy first, red sox second remember marlins, henry owned them at one time, plus lets give youngsters aaa-aa-a players a shot at the big time , they're cheaper; need a catcher ,another starting pitcher maybe a trade with padres who would love to unload peavy's salary, plus they have a good rookie catcher in a trade for $$ and couple prospects, sox should keep their top 6 prospects though in case.don't worry ,yanks can't win to many questions like health with pitchers, everyday players getting older more fragile

Posted by paul December 26, 08 01:06 PM
    1. We need a catcher more than anything else and I am sure Epstien is well aware of that fact. It would restore my faith if they get a number one catcher and if that were Varitek that would work for me. Landing the other Ramirez or Dunn would make me VERY CONFIDENT that they could make it to the world series.

OH MY GOD! you were very optimistic, all we need to worry about is staying healthy and playing good, sound baseball! The rotation needs to last long into the game and we need to have shut down bullpen (kind of like 2007) and if there are any problems Theo can make some trades or we have around 10-25 million in space for spending if the Sox see as a must at the trade deadline!

So i think the Sox are going to prove a lot early in the season!
