  1. What a great win....However, I'm left to wonder, Lester is mowing the Angels down and clearly is getting stronger as the night wore on. He leaves after 7 with 107 pitches under his belt. The bullpen is a bit depleted and Pap is not even in the mix. Way back in May, he threw over 130 pitches, why? He was throwing a nono. What is more important, a nono in May or last nights game? Pitch count, schmitch count, if ever there was a game where Lester should have stayed in, it was last night!!!

  1. If Beckett is healthy, why wouldn't he start game 1 on normal rest? Then have Matsuzaka go on game 2 (with a bullpen we hope will be fresh) and then have Lester pitch game 3 (on extra rest) in Fenway (where he dominates) and we hope give the bullpen another chance to restore itself? On the other hand, Wakefield has had success in the past in the Trop (admittedly against wekaer teams), so maybe, if he is going to start, you want him to get that start in game 2 in Tampa, and push Dice-K back to game 4 in Fenway?

  1. I'll agree with that, but you know that if the pen comes through with 2 clean innings everyone would be saying "Wow Tito managed the pitching perfectly tonight" Either way, couldnt have been a more exciting finish!
