  1. I would love to know who left Pedroia off their ballot, total idiocy.

  1. I'm shocked! Someone didn't even put Pedroia on his ballot. He's named on 27 of 28 ballots. How could anyone not think Pedroia was one of the top 10 most valuable? Any way to find out what writer left him off the ballot?

  1. David, do you know which voter left Pedroia completely off their ballot? I noticed that he's one short. I'd also like to know which stupid writer gave K-Rod, the most overrated player in the AL this year, a first place vote.

I love how stupid some baseball writers can be.

Boston.com: The writer who left Pedroia off his ballot was Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. He spoke to the Globe about it.

  1. How did Jason Bartlett get a fifth place vote; .286; 1; and 37. Scored 48 runs?

  1. Congrats little man! I feel sorry for his teammates for having to listen to his smack talk for the next few years:) Pretty ridiculous that Pedey and Mauer were both left off a ballot. I think Evan Grant was trying to pull some kind of "double-whammy" vote - he wanted Youks to win, and felt so strongly about Pedey's impending win that he left him off completely to keep down his vote count. Grant had him fourth as recently as last week. Pretty childish tactic.

  1. Morneau and Youkilis were the only players named on all ballots. Pedroia was left off one ballot entirely -- by Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News

so there you go, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, there's the idiot...

  1. All of Red Sox Nation is so very proud for Dustin Pedroia. We couldn't be more pleased. We have a new Mr. Hustle in Major League baseball. He deserves every bit of this wonderful honor.

  1. So Evan, please enlighten us on why you think Dustin wasn't even a top 10 MVP candidate this year? I'd also like to know who left Mauer off their ballot altogether. Both Dustin and Mauer should have been on all 28 ballots. Bartlett being on a ballot was a joke as well. Congrats Dustin, well deserved!

  1. How did A-Rod finish ahead of Pena and Longoria? It's MVP, not I feel like I have to vote for a Yankee who's an overrated bum!

  1. Congrats to Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youklis for their MVP seasons.

And to the imbicile who left perdoia off his ballot and the moron who though F. Rodriguez of LA desterved a fist place vote, you should be ashamed and when caught should be banned from ever voting for players again.

  1. The Kid deserves it !! I have not seen the grit and Hustle he gives in years, Never mind that swing. for his size and the way he hacks at the ball. He CRUSHES IT !!!

  1. Maybe as bad as the one guy who left Pedroia off are the 18 who thought ARod was one of the league's 10 best players this year. Huh? What Yankee games did they watch this year? He hit about .230 with men in scoring position, and wasn't even the most valuable player on his non-playoff team (Rivera and Mussina). Yet he finishes ahead of anybody from the Rays? Wow.

  1. yet another example of the media's never ending love affair with the sox. There are 10 players more deserving of this award.

  1. The thing that makes me crazy about the MVP votes is that 23 of 28 writers thought Francisco Rodriguez was among the 10 most valuable players in the league; 16 of them ranked him in the top 5! Frankie Rodriguez can't even crack the list of the 5 most valuable CLOSERS in the AL!! Using any set of reasonable criteria, K-Rod may not break into the top 50 most valuable players in the league. I knew some baseball writers had kind of a superficial understanding of the game they are paid to follow and report, but I really didn't think the clueless neanderthals were so distressingly widespread. A solid majority of the writers entrusted with the solemn responsibility of selecting the AL's MVP demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that they're not qualified to keep their jobs.
