Mariners to decide by Tuesday
It appears that the Mariners are getting closer to making a decision on their new manager, a choice that has a 2-in-7 chance of affecting the Red Sox.
Both bench coach Brad Mills and third base coach DeMarlo Hale met with the Mariners in Seattle last week, Mills on Monday and Hale on Thursday.
Neither has held a major league managerial job, but they're not alone among the Mariners' seven candidates in that regard. In fact, each of the candidates interviewed by Seattle general manager Jack Zduriencik is without such experience.
Zduriencik decided not to add names to the list and not to bring anyone back for a second interview, according to both the Seattle Times and the News Tribune in Tacoma.
Sox pitching coach John Farrell earlier declined an interview with the Mariners.

If Seattle picks Brad Mills or DeMarlo Hale, I wonder if Seattle would settle for Francona. I am still recuperating from Francona’s passive management in Game 7 waiting for the big clutch hit that never arrived.
yaaaaawn
Farrell is Titos replacement when he hangs em up....a great choice in my opinion
