Two World Series rings are nice, but nothing beats a wedding band. Just ask Kevin Youkilis, who got married yesterday in Mexico. Engaged for more than a year, the Sox first baseman and his fiancee, Enza Sambataro, finally made it official in front of 120 family members and friends on a beach in Cabo San Lucas, where the couple will also honeymoon. We're told the guest list included a couple of Youk's teammates - Mike Lowell, Big Papi, and Dustin Pedroia, among others - and a few VIP friends such as sitcom star Mike O'Malley and one of the Wahlberg boys. Enza, who briefly dated Ben Affleck back in the day, wore Vera Wang. (Youk favors sweatpants, but we trust he cleaned up for this occasion.) It's Enza's second marriage and the first for Youkilis, who'll turn 30 in March.

A Newton native and former BC student, Sambataro is the CEO of Youk's charity Hits for Kids, which raised $1 million last year for children's charities and medical research programs in New England and Cincinnati. The couple will spend the offseason in Arizona, where Youkilis is again working out at the Athletes Performance Institute. Before then, the bride and groom will host a "Family Feud"-like fund-raiser Nov. 29 at Mohegan Sun. Mazel tov.

  1. I hope he signed a pre-nup. She's nothing but a gold digger!! Dated Ben Affleck, married a doctor and had a kid with him. Later divorced the doctor and collects child support and alimony(although I'm sure the alimony is now no longer), and reeled in Youk. Doesn't she have a police record too??? Youk isn't the most handsome guy, but all she sees is dollar signs and being able to be in the spotlight by being with a Red Sox player. Youk, you signed a pre-nup, right????

As a happily married man for over 38 years I look back to my bachelor days and both laugh and cringe. Youk did the right thing and his new wife looks like she is a pretty classy lady so he really hit the jackpot. I just hope she is a Red Sox fan, unlike my wife who loves the Angels. I have some work to do there.

It's about time the wife beating lumberjack tied the knot, hopefully he didn't beat her with it after he was done. Let's just hope he stopped baring his jaws for five seconds to take a nice picture with his newlywed. I hear the Yukon Territory is great this time of year for honeymoons.

As a female baseball fan who has been married for over 40 years (mother of 6), I know that even if she weren't beautiful and he not rich, there is less than a 50% chance of longivity in any marriage. What would the controversy be if she were plain and he handsome and poor? Both of them have God-given assets, she, her beauty and he his talent. What do their families think of this union? How many family members were present at their wedding, and are their parents still married to each other? Do they trust each other? It is just as easy to wake up in the morning with a rich guy and not have to worry how the family will pay the bills.! I hope th
