Kalkstein leaves Sox

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff December 9, 2008 01:22 PM

LAS VEGAS -- Performance enhancement counselor Don Kalkstein has left his full-time job with the Red Sox to return to his home in Dallas to spend more time with his family.

Kalkstein will stay on in a part-time consultant's role, but he'll work primarily for the Dallas Mavericks. Kalkstein was respected by Sox players, who often sought his help on the mental aspect of the game.
