Sox don't tender contract to Cash
As expected, the Red Sox today announced they will not tender a contract to backup catcher Kevin Cash, making him a free agent. The Sox tendered 2009 contracts to the other 28 unsigned players on the major league roster.
The Sox can re-sign Cash, but by not tendering him a contract they avoid having to go to arbitration.
In 61 games last season, the 31-year-old Cash hit .225 with three homers and 15 RBIs.

Now we have no catchers. What's the plan Theo?
Well it looks like we have no catcher right now. What are they doing, we have not signed one person. If they let Varitek get away that will be a huge mistake.
Obviously they did't think much of Cash. They not only need an everyday catcher, they also need a good hands guy for Wake
We have Kottaras and Brown. Maybe not awe inspiring, but it's not like there's truly nobody available.
Youkilis to Catcher, Tex to 1B... BRILLIANT!!!!
In regards to the logo's and unis all are good but I like the old circle logo better than the secondary circle logo except change the font on the Blue Boston to our font for Red Sox or the B. We need to trade lugo and let Lowrie develope. We could go back to Cabrerra or add Furcal. Also how about signing Tex moving Youks to 2nd and moving Perdrioa to short like his college days you cant tell me Youks cant play 2B he goes backhand at 1st and forehand at 3rd. Lowell is solid there so Tex 1B Youks 2b Pedrioa SS Lowell 3B and Lowrie as Utility backup
