FORT MYERS, Fla. -- If you're a big fan of relay drills and nothing gets your juices flowing for the regular season quite as much as seeing an outfielder throw a dart to the cutoff man, well, are you missing out today.

Field 3 is engulfed with fans eager to catch a glimpse of J.D. Drew preventing a runner from taking an extra base or seeing a Jacoby Ellsbury-to-Dustin Pedroia-to-Jason Varitek relay to nail a runner (a.k.a. a jogging minor leaguer) at the plate.

Check out the video at the top of this entry to see what all the fuss is about. To make it worth your while, we've included a clip of Rocco Baldelli working in center field. Hey, we never said this stuff was going to be that exciting.

As noted earlier, the Sox are going through these rather yawn-worthy drills in preparation for the first games of the spring tomorrow. You can't ignore the fundamentals.
