PAWTUCKET 9, Buffalo 0
Michael Bowden goes 4 2/3 innings in his first start, striking out five while allowing no runs on two hits and two walks. Relievers Billy Traber, Jose Vaquedono, and Hunter Jones combine for 4 1/3 hitless innings. Jeff Bailey hits a two-run homer and drives in three runs. Chip Ambres hits a home run. Paul McAnulty goes 1 for 4 with a double and three RBI. Brad Wilkerson goes 1 for 5 with three strikeouts.

PORTLAND 3, Connecticut 2
Lars Anderson draws a bases loaded walk on a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Sea Dogs their first win of the year. Anderson also hits two singles. Batting leadoff, Josh Reddick goes 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, an RBI, and a run. Richie Lentz pitches a perfect sixth and seventh, striking out five of the six batters he faces.

SALEM 3, Frederick 2
Che-Hsuan Lin goes 2 for 3 with a run, an RBI, and a double from the leadoff spot. Lin, 20, is 4 for 9 to start the season. Eammon Portice starts and throws six innings for the win, striking out six. He allows just two hits, but also two runs and a homer.
