Buffalo 4, PAWTUCKET 2, 15 innings
Clay Buchholz lasted 3 2/3 innings in his first start of the season. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four walks and three hits while striking out three. Catcher Carlos Maldonado came on in the 15th when the PawSox ran out of pitchers. He walked a batter and allowed a walk-off home run to Nick Evans. Daniel Bard pitched two perfect innings and struck out two. Jeff Natale went 2 for 4 with two walks and Chip Ambres hit a home run. Casey Fossum started for Buffalo. The PawSox lost for the first time.

PORTLAND 6, Connecticut 1
Josh Reddick went 1 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and two runs and Bubba Bell went 2 for 5 with a homer and two runs. Dustin Richardson pitched three scoreless innings in relief, striking out five and allowing two hits. T.J. Large pitched a perfect ninth and struck out two.

Frederick 3, SALEM 2
Ryan Kalish went 2 for 3 with a walk and a steal. Luis Segovia went 2 for 4 with a double. Ryne Miller and Derrick Loop each pitched two scoreless innings in relief, combining to strike out five and allow three hits.

GREENVILLE 9, Greensboro 0
Anthony Rizzo went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Tim Federowicz went 1 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Michael Alamanzar went 1 for 3 with two RBIs. Casey Kelly started and went five innings, allowing no runs on four hits, a walk, and four strikeouts. Caleb Clay pitched all four relief innings, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out four.
