Rochester 6, PAWTUCKET 5
Jeff Bailey went 3 for 4 with two home runs, three RBI, and a walk. Angel Chavez went 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Enrique Gonzalez allowed four runs, all in the first inning, on seven hits and a walk in five innings.

Also, the PawSox placed righthander Devern Hansack on the seven-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain and added both pitcher Rocky Cherry, who had been on the Lowell roster and working in extended spring training, and infielder Travis Denker, who was claimed off waivers from San Diego after beginning this season with Double A San Antonio.

PORTLAND 4, New Britain 3
Junichi Tazawa earned his first win in American professional baseball. He allowed one run on four hits and two walks in six innings, striking out three. His ERA after two starts is 1.64. Josh Reddick went 1 for 3 with a home run, his fourth of the season. Jon Still went 2 for 2 with a walk.

GREENVILLE 2, Hickory 1, 15 innings
Ryan Lavarnway led off the 15th by reaching on an error, and he scored the game-winning when Oscar Tejada also reached on an error five batters later. Armando Zerpa entered with two outs in the 10th inning and pitched 4 1/3 innings without allowing a base runner and striking out two. Starter Brock Huntzinger allowed one run on four hits in five innings while striking out three. Kade Keowen went 2 for 6 with an RBI.

  1. Dalton Jones once hit a Grand Slam, 3 run, single.

    With the bases loaded, he hit a shot into the right field upper deck in old Tiger's stadium. Unfortunately, he passed the runner going from 1st to 2nd and was called out.

  1. What is so funny is that everytime you read something depressing about the big club, this is here to cheer you up. We do have a rocking farm system. Too bad our team is only close to a low single A right now.
