Minor league box scores

Leigh Valley 4, PAWTUCKET 3
Jeff Bailey went 3 for 4 with a solo home run. Zack Daegas went 2 for 4 with a double and a run. Charlie Zink allowed four runs in six innings on four hits and three walks.

PORTLAND 8, Binghamton 4
Josh Reddick went 1 for 4 with a triple, a walk, and a run. Mark Wagner went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. Lars Anderson went 1 for with a home run, a walk, two RBI, and two runs. Bubba Bell went 2 for 5 with a double. T.J. Large pitched a scoreless ninth. He has yet to allow a run in 4 2/3 innings this year.

SALEM 5, Frederick 4
Ryan Kalish went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a walk, and two runs. Jason Place went 1 for 4 with a homer. Zak Farkes went 2 for 2 with two walks. Jason Blackey pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

GREENVILLE 9, Greensboro 0
Casey Kelly and Caleb Clay combined on a seven-hit shutout. Oscar Tejada went 3 for 4 with a walk, a triple, a home run, and four runs. Anthony Rizzo went 2 for 5 with two RBI. Michael Alamanzar went 1 for 4 with a solo home run.

  1. anyone think Jeff Bailey would look good in the 3 hole at Fenway ?
    Our DH struck out 3 times and has a slugging % of .158
    Papi has declined last 2 years has he hiit bottom?

  1. Nice to see Lars The Viking knock his first homer out of the park. Kelly has been nasty, and it's nice to see Clay healthy again. Sick game from Tejada.

  1. At this juncture, I think Beetle Bailey would look good. Papi better get his act together. He seems to be taking his batting funk a little too lightly. I hope Francona doesn't stay with him too long if he continues to be ineffective.

  1. Obviously, the Sox cannot give up on Ortiz, but Carter must get the DH spot either today or tomorrow to get some at-bats (move Drew to 3rd in order and put Carter in Drew's spot).
