Gwinnet 5, PAWTUCKET 0
Starter Charlie Zink allowed five runs on nine hits and five walks. Gwinnet starter Tommy Hanson, one the most highly regarded prospects in baseball, allowed three hits in six innings while striking out nine. Sean Danielson went 1 for 4 with a double.

Binghamton 8, PORTLAND 3
Catcher Juan Apodaca went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBI. Jon Still and Jorge Jiminez each went 2 for 4 with a run. Jimenez, a third baseman, is batting .391 for the season. Argenis Diaz went for 2 for 3 with a double. Reliever Dustin Richardson allowed one hit and struck out four in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

SALEM 6, Kinston 5, 13 innings
Kristopher Negron drove in the game-winning run in the 13th with a two-out infield single. Michael Jones, who had reached with a single and moved to third on a passed ball and a wild pitch, scored the run. Negron went 3 for 5 with a run, an RBI, and a walk. Ryan Kalish went 3 for 4 with two walks, a triple, and a run. Chih-Hsien Chiang went 1 for 6 and hit his second home run of the season. Josh Papelbon pitched two scoreless innings and earned his second win while loweing his ERA to 3.55.

Savannah 7, GREENVILLE 4
Tim Federowicz went 1 for 3 with a home run and two RBI. Michael Alamanzar went 2 for 4 with a home run and an RBI. Peter Hissey went 1 for 3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. Armando Zerpa allowed one hit and struck out three in two innings of scoreless relief. He has not allowed an earned run in 14 innings this season. Zerpa, 18, has allowed two hits and two walks, good for a 0.29 WHIP, while striking out 13.
