Clay Buchholz found his way into more trade rumors than any Red Sox player, but once 4 p.m. arrived today, after a stressful and strange afternoon, he still wore his Red Sox uniform.

“It’s definitely a good feeling,” Buchholz said. “It’s hard to not realize and see your name on TV with a lot of different trades going on. The organization is awesome. They’ve treated me about as good as a person could be treated. It’s always good to be a Boston Red Sox.”

“It’s a good thing to be wanted, and it’s a good thing to be with an organization that thinks you’re going to help them in the long run. This is an awesome organization to be with.”

Buchholz watched the clock for much of the day, noticing his name coming up in potential trades on television. Buchholz heard nothing from the Red Sox front office, “and that was why I was a little nervous, because I wasn’t getting any feedback from anybody,” Buchholz said. “It’s a helpless feeling knowing you have no say in whatever goes on, to get here today and walk around not knowing what’s going on.”

In the end, Buchholz had no reason to worry. But as 4 p.m. drew near, Buchholz wanted to clear his head. “I decided to go outside and run around a little bit,” Buchholz said. "It’s a rough day, a little weird.”

  1. Nick Green, the error machine...why can't they trade that useless waste of space.

  1. If you're looking for the game blog, it's further down the Extra Bases section.

  1. Hey Buchholtz, be grateful your boy friend Theo saved you, because in my eyes, you're just another Casey Fossum

  1. without Nick Green the Sox would have been screwed for roughly 2 months Ovah... and he was the leading Sox hitter with RISP for a long time, he may still be

  1. So Nick makes a few errors in the past few games and you arses want to turn on him? This, after he was a savior when Lugo was making all his errors. Typical Red Sox trash...and I'm a staunch Sox fan.

Shame on you RSN. Bunch of dumb****s.

  1. I agree with you Dane & Dan. Tough week for Green. He had a great 2 months saving a few games. Short term memory for a few near sighted "pink hats".

  1. I've only seen one person bashing Green, why are the comments responding to that person referencing multiple people? He did a tremendous job filling in early, most people realize that.
